I'm not sure if I'm entitled to be here or not...  I'm half-ambidextrous, and before you laugh then allow me to explain
I write with my left, and do what's left with my right.  If that still sounds confusing (which it probably does if you read it aloud), I do all my writing with my left hand but when it comes to scissors, sports, etc I use my right hand (though am still capable of using my left hand- I can use left-handed scissors for example).  It's weird, and as far as I can tell there's no logical reason for it, but because I am capable of doing everything with my left hand if I choose to then am I allowed in?
Well I'm left handed but for a couple of random tasks I do use my right

So good enough for me Smiley

Good day
New to the forums, and a fellow sinistral.  They called us mad, they called us evil.  Let us crush the dextrals beneath our steam-booted heels and zeppelin armadas and show them just how wrong they were.

Don't feel too bad, Dan.

Time for a bump from a new member who also happens to be left handed, and who also recently has gotten familiar with fountain pens (having received his very first one as a Christmas gift this past Christmas).

left hander heere, used to always be called kackhanded when I was younger.

Used to always find it rather unhelpful being shown things right handed and when I wasn't able to pick it up instantaniously be told it's easy, takes a little bit longer to change it round and make the info left handed friendly.

What I've never understood is when someone you've known for a while suddenly makes the leap and goes you're left handed I always thought you were right, even though they've seen you pick up a pen in the left hand countless times. Is that one just me or have others found this aswell.

I am able to use my right to a certain extent although poorly, but one thing I've always wondered is why I have to wear my watch on the left.

Another left handed here. Although I use the mouse with my right hand.
About #$(%@ fountain pens. In school, after we learned how to write with a pencil, we were given a fountain pen. Without considering the consequenses I proudly started writing the most beautifull curly font I could think of. When I finished my first sentence, I looked at the result.  Angry
Not just a smear across the paper, but also a blue hand palm. I never touched another fountain pen again. Now my weapon of choice is a hard pencil or ball point pen.

Ah when I was at primary school I learn't to have my hand below the pen not behind so had less chance of that, but can't remember whether I was taught or learnt by making a mess.

I've never seen that technique before. I have seen the hand over the pen and the 90 degrees turn of page, up to down writing. Eaven seen upside down writing. Thank god for keyboards  Grin

Hello everyone,

I have just stumbled upon this thread despite being on here for quite a while.

I too am left handed. Although mouse clicking & cup holding are done by righty, so he doesn't feel LEFT out, see.

Cheers,
Herr Orgel Fuhrer.

The one problem with having the hand below the nib is after a while the hand cramps up. But does stop the ink being smudge all over the page.

Offering my candidacy into the ring. I am an ambi as well but have been accused of having two left feet. My stronger of both eyes is the left and have more fillings on the right of my jar. I hear better with my left ear and although I dislike auto races, NASCAR and most oval tracks do seem to have it correct. Does sleeping on the left side of the bed make a difference?

This is marvelous, I am left handed. Even when I broke three of my fingers in my left hand, I never wanted to use my right hand.

I'm kind of glad that I missed the whole time when left handed people were forced to use their right. I have heard the stories from older people who are also left handed that when they were younger they were forced into writing etc with their right hand due to it being seen as wrong to be left handed.

I feel compelled to ask: I was left hand dominant before I was four. I'm now right hand dominant for the vast majority of tasks. If, however, I am doing any amount of sign language or writing backwards, I'm left hand dominant. Do I count?
