Given it a chain now:
So I'm calling it DONE.
If anyone wishes to buttonhole me at the Asylum, I'll be happy to chat about all aspects of making- but it's best done over a drink or two.
Or gunpoint.
Pardon me, old chap, while I wipe the drool from my immediate area.

Wow, that camera case is breathtaking.
Fantastic job all around. The finish is fabulous, and your photography is great too.

Is it too late to get it into the museum exhibit? It really does belong on display - it isn't a weapon, which would qualify it for the exhibit, but bears similarity to your pistols in quality and design. A work of similar calibre, if you'll forgive the pun!
While I realize it would be terribly inconvenient to you to lose the use of your camera during such a good opportunity to use it, you really ought to have thought about that before you turned it into art.

I have to say that it is the creativity and ability to turn junk into incredible props [not so much in this particular case, but in general] that really draws me to steampunk... The fact that you can make this kind of thing from scratch like that and have it come out so well is simply astounding and inspiring. Thanks for sharing!

That is beautiful! So very jealous of your talent.
I'm glad you went the extra mile and aged the chain and so on. Not that I believed you when you first said you were finished.
Thought you might like to know you were reblogged... in Russian:

Well, maybe I lied, but it's definitely done now:
Beautiful work. Each of your projects sets a new bar for creativity and craftsmanship...a very high bar.
