I know it's a tad early to be in the Christmas spirit, but I thought if I was to organise a meet, the sooner, the better... WORCESTER VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS FAYRE 2009 Some of you UK based Steampunks may be aware of the City of Worcester holding, and I quote: "the Midlands' most prestigious themed Christmas market" and I think it's safe to say that it is a perfect event for a BrassGoggles meeting. I thought I would get the event posted on here so you can get it in your diary now to avoid disapointment . If you know you will be able to make it, let me know (post on here, PM, email, IM) and I shall place your name upon the Register of Interest (next post.) The event organisers ask for large parties to make their presence known in advance, and if we wish to go to a restaurant or some other food emporium I will need to book it in advance as it will be incredibly busy. The dates for the fayre are as follows: Thursday 26th November 4.00 pm - 9.00 pm Friday 27th November 11.00 am - 9.00 pm Saturday 28th November 10.00 am - 7.00 pm Sunday 29th November 11.00 am - 5.00 pm (Thank you Mrs Van Horne)Gin.

good plan! we thoroughly enjoyed the event last year although we did have to fend off hoardes of tourists wanting photographs!
I'm still waiting to hear if I will be able to trade at the fayre or not this year - so I might be otherwise engaged depending on my status as a punter or tradesperson at the time.
One way or another I will definately be attending (along with Mr Van Horne).

Nooooooo! It is forbidden to mention the C-word before November!
Saying that, no doubt the family Phlogiston will be attending as usual. I'll start polishing my muff.

Mind you, I doubt I will be trading given the price of the stalls and the issues I had with dissapearing emails with the council meaning I missed the closing date!

I live here, and that weekend I shall be working in a coffee shop called Druckers Vienna Patisserie. However, the days immediately before and after that weekend I shall be free, oh my lords how.

Should I add you to the Register? It by no means commits you to attending.

Good morning. Would you put Himself and I down as possibles, if you wouldn't mind. We would like to attend, but it may depend on which day- we usually go to the good food show, which is also usually around that time. (we usually go to the food show on the Friday)

A Worcester event? And it's taken me two days to notice this?? I will be along for sure, although the Intended has the same problem as Mr. Dachary and will be required to be serving customers those days- they are amongst the busiest of the year for the pub he works in.
Last year, I was offered Stallholder discount on a hat I had my eye on (being dressed in some degree of Victoriana). I admitted I wasn't, with the statement "For some of us this is a lifestyle, don't you know." Once I realised how stuck-up that sounded, I had no choice but to buy the merchandise in question to make up for it.

I hope it was a suitably lovely hat. (and that the stallholder tugged his forelock in a mark of respect...)
