Evenin' all. I see we have a lot of interest, a lot more than I had anticipated (which is definitely a good thing ) I do hope you can all make it, so get it in your diaries now, if you haven't done all ready. For those who would want to come out for a meal on the day/evening of the visit (and you are all welcome if you can squeeze into the restaurant ) where would you like to go? I don't know of any where 'steamy' exactly, but post your suggestions, and we'll go from there. Gin.

It all sounds terribly thrilling, both myself and my good wife are interested in attending, and would like to try to get along. We don't always make it to these things but we will try.

... and scored NO stars on the council's "Scores on the Doors" hygiene scheme! The Swan with Two Nicks next door is equally full of character and more affordable, a favourite place to have a quiet drink in. However, both are situated on New Street which will be HEAVING for the duration of the market. A meal for a party of any size will need to be pre-booked, and/or look more towards the north side of town. We residents need to get our thinking caps on and find somewhere nice in anticipation.

I agree, any place on New Street will pretty much be a no-no, we must have a think for a suitable venue and definately book ahead if we can

I wouldn't have known either! we'll have to rely on local knowledge to uncover somewhere suitable.
Have we actually agreed a date yet? Sorry if I've missed that post!

No need to apologise... I know first-hand how crowded it gets as we used to have a flat on Friar Street (where the market extends to) & the walk to the centre that normally took 10 minutes took 25 mins pushing one's way through the throng!
The dates for the fayre are as follows:
Thursday 26th November 4.00 pm - 9.00 pm Friday 27th November 11.00 am - 9.00 pm Saturday 28th November 10.00 am - 7.00 pm Sunday 29th November 11.00 am - 5.00 pm
but no fixed day/s for a meet yet.
Worcester also has a popular Ghost Walk that is normally on every Saturday between Setember & April (I think) although it's not on that weekend because of the other things going on. However, if we can get a large enough group together, it MAY be possible to book an "exclusive" walk, I'm happy to look into this if people are interested.
If people are coming from a way away and having to book overnight accommodation, it seems only fair to make it worth their while!

Speaking of booking accommodation... We have a sofabed in nearby Malvern should any folk need it. You may be forced to drink a lot of rum as it is Mr P's birthday weekend, mind you

Definately would love to do a ghost walk! How very victorian indeed. And where theres rum, usually I will be. Good time to pick up my chair, eh, Missus Plum? Only problem with this is that Sunday trains are horrific. and I wouldn't want to impose two nights in a row! tis a quandry.

a) Count me in for the Ghost Walk - I missed it last year due to work.
b) Speaking of work, I am working 8-6 every day of the Fayre - it's our busiest time, apparently. Are there plans for evening shenanigans?

Skinner, you and /or any others would be welcome upon our sofabed for as long as you like; we enjoy having campers! A couple of nights would be no problem at all.
I'm getting excited about this already; on this note does anyone fancy a Worcester or Malvern meet in the slightly nearer future? Say within the next month or so?

The Major and I would love to attend as we have not really explored that neck off the woods, Just depends on the day's chosen. But in theory count us in for the whole experience! yours Lady Elsie.

Jolly good! I was starting to think I'd have to break the Pointy Stick out draw your attention to this. Plum, I'd love a catch-up but things are proving... busy. In a good way. However, I will be at the Vintage & Craft fair on the 3rd October and depending what time it commences, I propose we head to Drucker's beforehand to gain sustenance and see if we can spot this other mysterious Worcester-ite.

Are we any nearer to settling on a day/ evening/evenings? It would be nice to have at least one shared meal; if people are planning to stay over, presumably the Saturday night would suit most people, but will also be the most busy. A shared, picnic-style meal has always been successful part of many meet-ups in the past, but it will be too cold to eat al fresco. If a suitable venue can be found, perhaps this could be an option for the Saturday (then walk it off on our spooky walking tour), with a Sunday roast-type meal the following day a little away from the city centre? Two meals out also means racking up costs. And if people are making a weekend of it, it's easy enough to arrange something for the Friday night. Name a pub. Name a time!

I'll be travelling up Friday afternoon, staying with my parents in Malvern. This will probably involve taking my father out for a pint, followed by large measures of his single malt. Somehow I think that counts me out of the fun for Friday.
I can be in Worcester all day on the Saturday, with a possibility for a meal in the evening before returning to Malvern by train.
Could possibly meet for lunch somewhere on the Sunday before heading south.

Our sofa bed is also at the disposal of one or two who are in need of free accommodation during the victorian fayre
Looking forward to seeing you at the vintage & craft fayre Mary (& anyone else who'd like to stop by), myself and Plum will be ensconced behind my glittery stall of goodies and it would be lovely to see fellow BG-ers (not to mention the wealth of vintage garb that will be at the fayre - I will have to restrain my purse!).

Confirming the date would be good- we cannot do the Friday as attending the good food show and the prevalence of samples (ahem) may make driving unlikely later... So saturday/ sunday would suit us best...

I think Saturday and/or Sunday would probably suit - might be easier for folks that work weekdays too, do we have plans other than to promenade around the fayre?
We would certainly like to attend a Worcester Ghost Walk too.
