Although I live on the south coast and can't qualify as living in or near Worcester, my parents live very close to Great Malvern station. Its nice to have a local base with a comfy bed ... and bing so close to the station it means I don't have to worry about having a drink in Worcester if the whim so takes me  Smiley

Are there any other folks actually residing in this fair city?

Yes indeed, for three years- moved down to come to University & stayed because we like it, it's now most definitely our home.

And now I know where you work, I'll pop in and scoff cake see if I can spot you.

Hey, you can both scoff AND spot, if you should choose. I know I work there, but I also get free cakes and so I feel justified in saying that though incredibly overpriced for the sizes offered, them cakes is damn good. If you're spotting, I'll be the only gent in a black shirt and waistcoat.

But I did the same; Came to uni in 2005 and the city just consumed me. Met my lady friend here and that's that Smiley

I live in Essex but it sounds like a great day out. Im not sure as of yet if i can make it but i will be making an effort. Im new to Steampunk as a whole and have yet to put together a full outfit although im hoping to do so in the next month of so. I don't mind Tourists taking pictures as ive had that lots of times while out and about in London during Halloween and i think it just adds to the fun of the outings, meeting people who appreciate the work gone into your costumes. For Halloween i tend to go all out and in the past ive even had concerned citizens ask if i need help and one who attempted to phone an ambulance for me before i stopped them while wearing one of my more convincing Zombie costumes. So im looking forward to creating my first Steampunk outfit.

Ive never been to the Fayre before and while i have looked it up and seen what is on offer i wondered if there were any specific Steampunk related events planned or would it be a general day out taking advantage of the events already there.

I would like to register an interest, but may not be sure until nearer the time.  We are trading at Malvern Militaria Fair the week before so it may not be practical for us to travel back down there the following weekend.  Will keep checking the thread though, sounds great.

No... but there's nothing to stop us arranging one!  (plus it's a wonderful opportunity to purchase some items for your outfit while you're there.)

In Worcester? Not a massive amount; couple of vintage shops and antique/junk shops and thats it (unless theres a secret Worcester I have yet to discover, preferably underground  Grin). Theres a few good junk shops in Malvern too, which is a few miles down the road.

ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME!!!

I LOVE Christmas!! No matter how far from December it will be.
(You know just the other day I mentioned in a wistful sigh 'I can't wait till Christmas!')

Oooh, I'm going to have to turn up a proper sort, you know. Topper with Tinsel, not my usual denim grunge. OH I SAY, What if I wore my antlers to boot? I'll have to think about this one...

Eee! This sounds so fun! Mind you I'd only be able to make Saturday. But, but, still!  Cheesy

Me and my Fiance would love to attend an event like this, will have to check with her, as we get married on the 7th of that same month, so might be a push to get it sorted/fitted in.

Indeed, if you need any help/pointers, I am happy to assist. Nothing out of the normal, a bit less formal than usual. Hog roast also!

please don't take inspiration from my 'happy event' - I managed to break my leg in two places on my hen night and went up the aisle in a wheelchair!
