A wonderful book has just come out called "Mr. Lincoln's High-Tech War:  How the north used the telegraph, railroads, surveillance balloons, ironclads, high-powered weapons, and more to win the civil war"

Very important for understanding the historical context that brought forth the End of the World; and eventually, the Steampunks Who Will Fix It.

Just think, if, due to some massive electronic disruption- solar flares, malfunctioning microwave satelites, E-bombs- we'd all be thrown back to a pre-electrical society; and then, THEN The Steampunks would be Masters of the World!
