Gilded Age Records is a collective of like minded Indie artists, all unified by a common 19th Century/Steampunk theme.

In all reality, "steampunk" is anachronistic, innit? Otherwise it's just Victorian dress-up.

chain smokin', sleep needin', apparel designin', mohawk havin', tea drinkin', steady cursin', boy charmin', card readin' rabble-rouser and amusement park cleverly disguised as a woman

Thank you!

We have a ton of really great bands featured. You can easily spend hours getting lost in this music. =)

There's a little something for everyone at GAR.

I recently heard of Fermata.  They're good, and I plan on getting their album.

The pannel is very wide on this label. Musicians are very creatives. There is really for all the tastes.
GAR is an excellent "shop window" for the steampunk community.
Please, go on and make about us dream !

I enjoy some of this stuff. Ghostfire is great, as is the Tlielaxu music machine(though I suspect some copyright infringement is incoming with the blatant name ripoff from Dune), and a few of the others are pretty good as well. Besides Vernian Process nothing on Gilded age has wowed me, however.

We are proud to announce the addition of Life's Decay. From Paris, France.

A lot of you guys are probably already familiar with their work, as they've been around as long as Vernian Process, and have always flirted with the Steampunk scene.

Hmm...I shall definitely have to keep this in mind as my two-man band are considering going Steampunk. (By considering, I mean I am corrupting my bandmate LOL)

This is really exciting to see. The Tleilaxu Music Machine kicks ass. He's one of the funkiest mutants in LA. About time he got some recognition.

It's great that you've put this record label together and I can't wait to see how it evolves.

Ever consider any hard copy releases? I know CD's are dying but I could see quite the interesting novelty package...

Yes! We are trying to figure out a way to make hard copies of a sampler for the bands to give away at their shows. The only problem is fitting 29 bands on one CD lol. I also have absolutely no budget at this time, so I can't really spearhead this particular project.

Give it a few years and hopefully we'll be seeing something along the lines of : NOW!: That's what I call Steampunk.

Sure, it's a Soundcloud link though if thats ok, so you might need a Soundcloud account yourself to listen, I'm not sure. It's worth setting up an account though, it's a very good way of finding new artists and would benefit the label.

Nice... I dig that site. I really like how people can comment during the songs.

And yeah I like your project too. It wouldn't really fit with the GAR aesthetic, but I dig DnB, Trip-Hop, etc.

Gilded Age isn't so much about Steampunk, as much as old world/vintage styles. Steampunk just happens to be one of many styles that fit into that overall idea.
