I wish to make a suitcase but am unsure how I should do it. I guess it's more like a thin trunk really since I want it to be very stiff like one. I would buy one but all the ones that I love are just so expensive.

My first question is; what wood should I make the form out of? It really only needs to be sturdy enough for about a week or so's worth of clothes.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
