Just thought it worth mentioning.   When I was in my youth we had a bound copy of "Cassell's family magazine" from 1890. 
Literally a victorian magazine for all the family covering a range of topics. Fashion , technology, cookery etc.

They still come up on ebay occasionally, definitely worth keeping an eye out for.
