I bought this pocket watch for scrap for £7, but thought it was so pretty I just had to try and save it. I got the back off and found the spring was a little stressed, but everything else in ship shape. After some tinkering it is now in full working order, ticking away. I bought a new key to wind it for a paultry £7.50. So for less than £15, I have a fully functioning silver pocket watch (apparently the hallmark dates it to 1893). It just needs a new crystal for the front, then I can wear it every day! I know it probably doesn't mean much to anyone else, but for a newbie to chronoautomatica, I feel quite proud *beams*

Good work! I wouldn't know where to start... which as a steamer is a pretty dire admission! I love the monogram on the back.

I think is says "JAB"? Which are not my initials, but good advice in any awkward situation. If in doubt, jab.

Well done, and a great find in a watch, too...
