*Wakes up and notices someone has attached shoelaces to his boots.  How interesting!*

Hmmm... I am thinking dark rum, along with something orangey - I think blue Curacao would give it the proper look to go with the Zombie Apocalypse theme.  It should be appropriately strong, of course.  Then some cinnamon schnapps, perhaps?

It needs something more, though.  Open to suggestions, still.

Cheers!

Unceremoniously chucked out in the middle of things.  That was not amusing - it is a good show that the lifeboat is in working order, though.

Now, what was I drinking again?  Ah, yes...

Cheers!!!

Okay, now I really need a drink.

And anybody got a fire extinguisher?  There's a bunch of flames from shoulder-chips on fire not too far away.

Gaaah, I hate that.

Cheers!

*There is a whirr of clockwork as the the statue of Horatio Nelson pivots on the left foot and a small hidden door opens behind it. through the door steps Bailey, dressed as usual in black dress trews , black weskit over pinstriped black over white longsleeved, buttondown-collared broadcloth shirt, black and white wintips and a tweed newsboy beret, carrying a bentwood cane with grips carved intricately just above the foot and just below the curve of the handle.

Shandy and nuts, please. What's up?

Hullo!

Things are getting back to normal after the, hmmm.... interregnum?  Whilst we were in the lifeboat.

Caterpillar is already back in his corner - I think he has found a new blend, though, perhaps apple?  The gentlemen at the chessboard seem not to have moved in the entire time we were gone...

They do add something to the atmosphere, it is true; a certain - as the French say - 'I don't know whut."

I am still working on a new drink, the Zombie Apocalypse.  Tough going, but the experimentation is grand!

How have you been?

Cheers!

Oh, same old banjo 'n' cloak 'n' slightly-bloody-dagger.

*A click, and Lord Nelson returns to his usual position as the secret door closes*

*Bailey Looks at the chess players*

Well, that's stalemate for you.

*Walks over, pulls out his watch, studies it for a moment, puts it back,  and then whispers something to the two players collectively. Still, no movement -- but then, the long-headed one chitters excitedly and takes a queen's pawn, and the betentacled one follows suit -- and then the both freeze, once again lost in thought*

Oh well, I tried.
I left some writing in the lifeboat; I wonder if I should leave it there or go back and get it, bring it here, stick it up someplace...

Why not?  It is comforting to know that the old SG is there, but I don't think any one really checks in more than once in a while - except when we need her.  So please, go ahead and share here.  If it was just before the Restoration, most will not have even had the chance to read it.

I am taking a break between tasks.  Just pulled the rotational induction unit from the Diesel-system Infernal Combustion Unit in the shooting brake (affectionately known as "Зверь" - the Beast), and I am feeling it in my shoulders.  Deuced (sorry for the pun) uncomfortable, either reaching up from below or climbing a ladder to straddle the fender and reach in.  Heavy thing, too.

Well, must get back to it - I have to have it rebuilt and reinstalled this week.

Cheers!

Retrieved rotational induction unit from the mechanic's.  It seems to be in good nick - it is a good workshop, they have an excellent reputation - and they had replaced the "Bendick's assembly", the solenoid (didn't we fight off an invasion of the Solenoids last week?  I'm so confused!) and the brushes, cleaned it and tested it.  For a whopping sum - but reasonable, once it was broken down into material versus labour.

I will see if I can't get it into place tomorrow.  Or perhaps tonight; there is still time.  Wish me luck!

Cheers!

Thanks for the good wishes.  I am afraid I haven't had the chance to replace the unit into the engine bay of the Beast; we have been busy moving house.  Currently located at the new lair on the park in my old home town, and we still have to go back to finish the old house up and get it on the market.

Frustrating times, but the end is in sight.  I still have a bit to get rid of up there, though.  Hope Jerry has lots of room...  heheheh.

Thank you!

What day is it?  If it's Tuesday, this must be Tennessee?

Shoved the starter back in the Beast last week.  No joy.  Dunno what the problem is.  Got to get it rolling...

House full of boxes.  Don't know where to start; hoping to at least dig out the fireplace by Christmas.

Wish us luck.

In that case, it must be Christmas where you are by the time you read this.  Merry Christmas!

Wait - it might just be summer there instead...  Well, either way, I hope it is a grand day for you there!.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all - a Good Night!

I was having a discussion with Caterpillar just now.  He's none too sure of the film, not having seen all of it, but he truly enjoyed Allan Rickman's portrayal of him on screen.

He says he still prefers the original John Tenniel artwork -

and was NOT amused by what Disney did to him.

He was, however, most amused by this image of him -

although he is quick to reassure that he has never been a threatening type, and would never have done anything to frighten Alice.

Cheers!

Right, that's a bucket, a blanket, and pillow and a glass of water for Captain Lyerly, and a shot of Tully and a Black and Tan for Miles.
*Slides the drinks for Miles to Miles*
I'll just pop the change on your tab.
*Tucks the pillow under Captain Lyerly's head, wraps the blanket around him, and sets the bucket and glass within easy reach*
Right. Now, where did I put that sign?
*Rummages around behind the bar, eventually emerging with a sign*
Here we go.
*Sets the sign on the floor beside the Captain. It reads: "Had too much, sleeping it off."*
There we go. Now, Where did I put that apron?
