Good evening ladies and gentlemen of the forum. I have decided to participate in the scavenger hunt because it appears to have had a poor reception by the forum members. There are not nearly enough people up to the challenge! Now, my pictures certainly aren't as nice as Copper Sulphate's because I took them all in a rush this afternoon before the sun set and the light was too poor to photograph in. Also, I am stretching the rules a little because I couldn't find the steampunk version of a couple of items, so I took the modern route. It didn't say anything about that in the scavenger hunt description  Cheesy

Cogs (used in my newest necklace)

Airship

Top Hat

Goggles (my lab goggles, because I have yet to find a place that sells steampunk ones)

Steam (you would not believe how difficult it can be to photograph steam!)

A Wrench

A Brass Door Knob (it's a door handle, but they serve the same purpose)

An old Key (this opens the door to my bedroom and is one of the original lock set from the early 1900's)

A Spring

Leather Bound Book (my highschool yearbook from grade 11)

Automaton or wind up toy

Wig (it is being modeled by a mannequin I decorated for my english class, and yes that is a plaster cast of my teeth circa grade 5)

A Door Knocker in the shape of a Lion

Steam Ship (yes, it is a Titanic bath toy, but I don't exactly have a steam ship lying around the house, so feel free to not give points for this one if it doesn't fit the rules)

A Pressure Gauge

Something Rusty

An old camera

A Sterling Engine

A piston (a rather large one from an air pump, with my cat examining it)

Oil (I have so many different kinds of oil sitting around the garage/work bench/kitchen, but this was the first one I picked up)

An old Globe

Granny Boots

A walking cane (it's a plastic joke one for "old ladies" because my mother turned 50 this year)

A crystal (four crystals on one of my earrings)

A radio valve (This is by far the coolest because I opened up a radio circa 1938 to find the valve. Luckily my father had one of those sitting around, and it still works. Naturally, I couldn't take just one photo of the inner workings of such a marvellous device, so here are three for your viewing pleasure. The valve is located in the lower half of the first photo.)

Col. Adrianna Hazard;  the oil can does not count it needs to be an image of oil not what it's contained in.
It dose not have to be engine or motive oil... check the kitchen

Scores so Far...

Copper Sulphate: 5
Herr Doktor: 4
5tephe: 10
Col. Adrianna Hazard :18

If you wish to challenge your score so far PM me. - A final tally will be made at 24.00 GMT on the closing date.

(No extra points for posting the same item twice) Oh and it has to be a door knob not a door handle.  Grin

I hope I'm not too late...
This is just stuff I have in my room right now since it's too late to be making a lot of noise.

Goggles

My old snowboarding goggles and my tiny cardboard tube ones.

Something Rusty

A piston
Piston valves... I have three  Cool

Oil
I am not a huge fan of this type of valve oil, but it's just sitting on my desk for some reason.

A radio valve
This one doesn't have to count but I thought it might be fun...

Here is my final photo, seeing as I could not find a brass door knob.

An original steampunk costume, modeled by myself. Here we see Colonel Hazard (my steampunk alter ego) checking her pocket watch. She has her hair in a practical bun, and is wearing a mix of victorian inspired mens and womens clothing, which reflects her "tomboy" qualities. Her earrings are lovely cameos surrounded by crystals with a single imitation pearl hanging from each one (they were made by yours truly, of course), though they don't show up well in the photo.

30 minutes is still 30 minutes in any time zone?

Perhaps we should all turn to N.E.T. Time?

It's 350° 40' right now

Ok the Scores on the doors!

Number09: 4
Copper Sulphate: 4
Herr Doktor: 4
5tephe: 10
Tea With Steph: 15 (Umbrella is not a walking stick, it is always an umbrella.)
Col. Adrianna Hazard :28 (Sorry oil can is not a picture of oil its a picture of an oil can.)
Penny Dreadfull & Anachronist:29

Now I would say that Penny Dreadfull should win, however this was a combo effort with Anachronist!
And Col. Adrianna Hazard put up a splendid show by herself with 28!

As this is soooo close it will be put to the vote on who is the ultimate winner and announced at 13.00 GMT tomorrow lunchtime.

Thank you very much! It was a lot of fun. Col. Hazard made a good show, and it is true that without working together Penny and I wouldn't have been able to edge out. I propose, barring Penny's disapproval, that we split the prize money between the three of us. It's only fair.

Argh, had I known it could not be the can and had to be actual oil, I could have remedied that photo earlier. Oh well, jolly good show to all participants! I eagerly await the next forum challenge.
