Indeed they are! Come aboard, come come. And please check your weapons at one of the lockers. There's about fourty-six on each floor. The attendants will give you a receipt.
I, and the drinks, will be in the Seventeenth Forward Ballroom-Saloon. It has a delightful view of the sun on the water this time of day.

Your hospitality is matched only by your gracious manners, Sir!
Quite a 'boat' you've got here, Admiral.
*Thistlewaite unloads a sizable pile of weaponry into a waiting attendants arms*
Now then, I believe you mentioned a Brandy that needed airing?

Indeed. Make yourself at home.

Ps. 'Tis but Captain General. I have command of but one Ship, techincally. It has myriads of smaller vessels, but they do not count, apparently.

*Thistlewaite swirls the Brandy, whiffs the aroma, smiles, and raises the snifter*
"To the Queen!"
I say, this is quite nice! Quite nice, indeed! Absolutely cries for a good smoke as accompaniment...I have some excellent Cubanos here, Gentlemen,... and Ladies, if you care to indulge. Is it safe to smoke here, Captain, sufficiently insulated from your lifting gas?

unloads a few pounds of weaponry at one of the lockers, including a blunderbuss, a boat gun, three aetherguns, two matched cutlasses, four grenades, a wire whisk, three throwing tomohawks, two small pocket model colts, a rattlesnake, a garrote, and a rubber duck.

I'm travelling light today...I say, nice boat you've got here, what speed does she make in a blow?

By all means Baron, smoke away. I will just caution engineering not to vent gasses.
And the RIS King Xavier XI is relativly unaffected by wind, but can attain speeds of about seventy-three knots, on a good day. She's built for power, not speed.

*Thistlewaite seats himself on an ornate deckchair, places the brandy snifter and box of cigars on a side table, produces a cigar cutter from an inside pocket and deftly snips the end off a Cubano. He focuses his attention on getting it properly lit, then puffs contentedly for a moment, blows a large smoke ring, and watches as it drifts languidly off to leeward....*

Oh, I say...this is the life, is it not? Ladies and Gents, help yourselves to the cigars, if you like...
Captain Helios, I commend you, Sir...the view is indeed excellent!

Sorry for the gap, but i've been transferring my command to a new vessel:

HEIC Bengal
She's smaller than the previous vessel, and a Private man of war belonging to the HEIC rather than the vectis navy, but shes a lot faster, the forward firing gun is devastating  and she handles a lot better. I'd define her as a small frigate personally, about 6th rate. Shes only temporary, while we conduct some "deniable" tea smuggling operations over the south china sea.

Oh, and mr Thistlewaite, only another 54 posts before you can hoist a blue ensign at the mizzen and join the Admiral's club. Huzzah!

Very nice, maneuverable.

What we need at this stage in the proceedings is a sing-song. What's everyone's favourite ditty? And in view of the distinguished company, anything that begins "There was a young lady from..." is not permissable.

How about Santy Anno?
As for rude songs, well, this is the wardroom/officer's mess and this is the place to sing them. Consider it a place not where polite company is offended, but where the polite company can be offensive.

Much obliged Mr Bailey.  *sits* as of now, I fit in the very sunburnt, but content researcher.  Or maybe I should just call myself an explorer, as they can be one in the same.  *smiles*  Anything to drink for a parched soul?

Personally i'd recomend the Venusian red. It's a nice drop, good on hot days with high pressure.

Life is good!

There is one thing I have noticed - we seem to have lost 8,9,10 and 11 deck. Is that related to the large aether storm last week or the failed pirate attack?

We're missing 8,9,10 and 11 decks?!?
*Grabs speaker tube. Plugs other ear with finger*
Hello, Engineering? Yes, this is the Kommandant-General. Yes-yes, I know there are decks missing. Mmmhmm, uhuh. Won't affect the ship much? Good, good. Just, do your best. Get it fixed. Excellent.
*Puts down speaker tube*
You'll be happy to hear that the loss of the decks will in no way affect the ships structural integrity. Apparently, due to the KXXI's size, the loss of four decks is more like the loss of a couple of windows on a regular sized airship.

Were on the KXXI now? Did you pick up the club while I was sleeping? No wonder the decks fell off, the g forces would have been large with a ship with as much extra lift as yours. I suppose this means were touring the known world world not doesn't it? Oh well.
