I know the feeling. The most pain I have ever experienced came from a dental issue. Dentist screwed up an initial operation which led to the shattering of said tooth, and my jaw becoming infected. Unpleasant to say the least.

Wow, thats exactly what I am going through, or near enough. I had a cavity which was pretty damn bad, but a fear of dentists after a botched operation made me put it off. Two years ago, thats right TWO FREAKING YEARS AGO, I split the tooth while eating and it got worse. I still put it off until earlier this year, the pain became unbearable and I went to the emergency dentist and begged to have it pulled. He was all "no no, there is enough to save here, its fine" and after 6 numbing injections, he ripped my NERVE out of the HOLE in my TOOTH with a Headstrom file! I have never experienced something so painful in my freaking LIFE. I felt woozy for a couple of days, but after it healed the tooth was numb again.....until ealrier this week. I woke up in agony after apparently grinding my teeth in my sleep, something I have done since childhood. I brushed my teeth, took some pain killers and thought that would be that, but no. Now I have been taking them every four hours for the last few days, and now the entire right side of my jaw is throbbing. I know its infected and I need emergency treatment RIGHT NOW, bu the only place in Cardiff is the Heath hospital. I have no way of getting there, I am suposed to be in work later today (9am) and I have no money. The dentist who ripped my nerve out told me to get my mouth fixed would cost me about £280, and thats without the cosmetics afterwards.
I just want my rotten tooth pulled out. Please?

Threaten legal action. See a GP, make sure you've got a good reason to see a dentist NOW, and basically threaten to take them to court if they don't.

With everything you've said you should have easily (long ago) qualified for emergency treatment. Someone is stringing you along.

You'll know if and when it is worth it, but if there was ever a reasonable justification for a sick day...
Dental problems can be quite serious or even dangerous, especially once infection sets in. The pain alone is justification enough in my eyes. Your call, of course.

Finished my experimental earrings. I wanted something more steamy and a bit less modern than the ones I usually just leave in all the time so I made some filigree and heliotrope ones that hang from body piercing segment rings. We will see if they are comfy a d durable enough to leave in all the time.

I know, I know, my next day off work is a Saturday though, unless I pull a sicky at work From what I've just read, you've got mandate for a sickie. Plus, (and forgive me for saying this) you're not going to do well at your job if you can't concentrate because of the pain. This is what the NHS is for. Free at the point of delivery, see? Go see a doctor.

Being honest seeing a doctor (GP) won't help, not qualified in dentistry you see! In English PCT's they all either have a "Dental Access Centre" ie a PCT run emergency dentist (but emergency only) or the service is provided by the Facio-Maxillary Dept at hospital - accessed via the A&E Dept. I assume Wales will be the same.

I took the bull by the horns and bought a backless marcella white evening waistcoat. I would have liked a vintage one (the ones with a back) but they're few and far between in 40'' chests and sell for stupid amounts of money (one a few days ago went for £20, and it was a wreck lacking even buttons.) So aside from a marcella shirt, the braces and the gloves (and the cane and scarf were I pushing the boat out) I can lay claim to owning full White Tie rig now Which goes perfectly splendidly with my Black Tie and Morning Dresswear.
