I guess it is a testament to the awesomeness of this piece of artwork that this thread keeps getting resurrected. It was this laptop that introduced me to the world of steampunk and led me to the Brass Goggles Forum.

Yes, it was this laptop that sealed my interest, though it was a pleasant surprise to find that Datamancer was part of the forum community here.

WOW, your one of a kind artist and you amaze me with that brass laptop. I hope many of us will understand that creativity comes with people who have unique talent and how to apply them in real world....

Just have to say how wonderful this mod is and how it inspired me to 'tweak' my Mac. Better quality photos soon. -Matthew

Over two years and this thread still gets resurrected? I must say, it's a testament to the beautiful bit of work Datamancer has done.

Hey everyone. I just recently realized that there is such a thing as Steampunk, and I must say that I am blown away that there is such a strong community of people devoted to the things I always thought were fascinating.
This laptop mod is probably one of the coolest things I have ever seen, though it is too bad (while at the same time completely understandable) that the cogs don't actually function.
I wish that I had a workshop (or garage) so that I could build things like this. Hopefully when I move into my new place, there will be some space for tinkering.
Thank you so much, sir. You have inspired me with your skill and artisanship.

While I'm one of those who are not big into just gluing a gear on something to make it steampunk, Datamancer's Laptop is just SO COOL! It and the Steampunk Starwar figures of SILLOF's are the two top all time favorites of mine. When I try to explain what steampunk is all about, I usually show these two items and the person gives and "Oooh, That's Cool!" and a big smile. It's then that I know we have another convert! I swear that one day I will build a replica of Datamancer's laptop and at LEAST Princess Leia of SILLOF's collection.

I'd like to see those. Are they posted on the forum?

Oh my... I do believe I'm in love... in a "Loves you for your 'brass' " way.
Off topic/related to the quote: I imagine this is the exact attitude seabear has towards me, or did when we first met On topic: Gosh, that is actually beautiful!
