Hello Fellow German Steampunks.
The English Student magazine of our university here in the centre of Germany is organizing a "festival" on the 7th of May 2009 which should consist of every imaginable artform, be it music, painting, poetry, author readings, paintings or sculptures. As I am part of said student magazine, I told our organisers that I would try to put together a Steampunk Art exhibition for our festival. To this exhibition I would like to invite all Steampunk artists who can afford the time and who are able to transport there sculptures, props and themselves to Kassel (where our university is) That is, why I am asking the German Steampunks first (although everyone is of course invited to join). Problem is, as we are all poor studens and this festival will cost us a fortune to get running, I can not offer you any money for your expenses (such as transport, staying in a hotel, food etc.) but I can give you a blank canvas on which you can paint with your own colors, to use an artistic metaphor. It could be as well a meet up of German Steampunks, I could show you Kassel beautiful 19th century architecture areas, the Bergpark etc. I would buy loads of Earl grey and other respectable tea-brands and we could have a jolly good time while at the same time presenting our makings to an audience which has probably never heard of steampunk.
So, once again the important dates I can give you so far:
What: <blank>-festival (our student-magazine is called <blank>) When: 7th of May 2009 Where: University of Kassel, Kassel, northern Hessia respectable Organizer: Me (toji_chiba at hotmail.com) until I talked to the festival organizers.
Ich würde mich freuen, wenn ihr die Zeit aufbringen könntet und es könnte eine wunderbare Erfahrung für uns alle werden.
Best regards
Toji Chiba

If I have the time, money and opportunity to get there,I sure will be there!Sounds wonderful.

At first: thank you all for your interest. It will most certainly be a much better exibition if there are more probs to look a than only my humble devices. Unfortunaltely, yes it is only on thursday evening, but nevertheless We can all have a great tme this evening and maybe even so on the following Friday. Thank you all for your attention

This is a reminder-bump. The organiser of the festival asked me to talk to those who are interested in participating. He is very interested in the Steampunk exhibition and this Topic could be used for you all and me, to discuss everything connected to the festival. You can post wishes or things you will need definitely (As for example a huge amount of Earl Grey ) We can create this exhibition together because I have all liberties needed to shape this exhibition the way you would like it to be. therefore, I need some input. How do you wish this art exhibition to be?

How I hate to bumb my own thread once again.
News: There will definitely be a Steampunk Art exibition and everyone is of course still invited to join. As it goes, I have a bed to lend, if someone is in need of a place to sleep. I have a huge bed, so even two peoplecould sleep in this bed, as long as they don't mind sharing one bed.
My plans so far :
-My computer, which will hopefully be finished by the end of April, including my webcam-mod, voice-control and a completely restyled user-interface. (For this I need to finish my webcam, rebuild/frame the monitor, add some gauges, redo the clock, design and arrange the new user interface etc)
-My Aural Enhancer
-My Sonic-Gun
-various lamps and clocks for decoration
-me in steampunk garb, completely with redone dreads, googles and a wooden case for my mp3 player.
- a portable time-machine
as you can see, this is by far not enough to make a decent exibition out of. I would greatly appreciate some feedback, especially by thise whi have already shown interest.
The planing goes as follows. We will meet on thursday afternoon, to prepare the exibition and hopefully will have a lot of audience to explain things to. Drinks (be they alcoholic or non alcoholic) will be provided by me as well as a huge amount of tea. For the following friday my plan ist to show the other steampunks around in my town. We have a lot of old 'Jugendstil' Buildings, the Bergpark (completed in 1800) and lots of parks and places to look at. I plan on doing a little photoshoot on Thursday and Friday and hopefully I am able to help you having a good time.
So much for that, I will try to 'not bumb' this thread again. If nobody can spare the time or is lacking the proper expenses, I can fully understand this and, although my impatience points to the opposite, I will of course hold no grudge against any of you fine gentlemen and ladies.
..darn it all this sounds so much like begging that I am going to stop right here and return to my to-be-finished term paper.
Regards
Toji
