Well eventually I knew the cat would be let out fo the bag so I am going to post this a bit earlier than expected: Yes i know the Monoggle is not complete yet, but hey we all need diversions =) Project T: Will be a combination of Tesla and Steam power. My original plan was to make a Tesla rifle, but after a long session with Capt. Barley Wilkerson it evolved into some monstrosity that will be a bit of a challenge combining both Tesla and steam power concepts, a hefty workload i might add...lol. I will update here when I have some new concept sketches. Ok here are some concept sketches: I apologize in advance for the crappiness, I tend to not work off drawings often ans my mind sees things better than i can illustrate, POLL is located here (had to start a new topic) http://brassgoggles.co.uk/bg-forum/index.php?topic=13069.0Please vote, it will run for 1 week =) Please peruse and leave comments good or bad =D Prof. A. I look forward to seeing how this turns out. Even though it's not a tea kettle of doom as I'd hoped.

This fine idea seems to be based around an old worlds of wonder starlyte lazertag pistol, a design I know very well

That you are Professor Higgins =) Well as Capt. Wilkerson pointed out, that irc session changed quite a few of the plans around =D It is in fact now going to be a Steam powered Tesla rifle using this as a base: the handguard/trigger is going to be from the lazer tag pistol , with a stock from a rifle, and the barrel will be on top. There is alot to go, but i wanted to give a update =) I will post a concept pic when i get a chance to whip one up. Suggestions welcome =D For now i must finish my Monoggle =D Thanks for looking!

So THIS is the secret weapon you did not want to talk about on the IRC The idea to use a portable vac is simple genius! I am looking forward to this one, especially after we have all witnessed what you are capable of regarding your monogoggle. regards Toji

The design looks good and I feel I must ask, are you using an old Lazer Tag Starlyte as the base?

That was the original plan tho now i will be using mainly the grip, trigger and part of the back. I have of them and the star sensors, and star base. =)
I will have to update the design pic when i get a chance, right now i am finishing up the monoggle =)

I recognised the Laser Tag pistol from the first sketch. I used to have the LT rifle too, which would be fun to mod - it had an extending shoulder stock, which would be nice to switch out from plastic to wood. That vacuum looks like a nice base for a pulse rifle, though.

OOh OOh Taggerts doing a rifle - fantastic!
I agree with the rest of 'em - the vacuum is a great base for a rifle type thingy. I too am at the big gun design stage but I need to find a rifle stock first.
Looking forward to another nice long richly detailed thread from the forums newest proffessor.
BTW - how do I get those funny dots to appear over the 'o' in Herr Dok and now the 'e' in Taggert?

Holy crap.... that vacuum is so similar to mine... I had the same idea about how much it looked like some kind of really high-tech weapon... but as mine was working just fine, I didn't mess with it.... ah well. I hope yours turn out well!

@ maduncle to make the umlaut on a windows machine it's ALT+0235 for ë and for the ö it's ALT+0246 =) also check here for rifle stocks: http://www.jeffsoutfitters.com/store.aspx?panel=1&categoryid=88 it's US based but they may ship abroad. @heavyporker I agree that it does have a very high tech look to t, the challence is to make it look not high techish..lol. Considering they only cost about 20 bucks i can justify tearing mine apart...lol @everyone, I have a few design sketches in the works, i may put a poll up to see which one has the best flow, give the people a say in how this progresses

Ok so heres a idea of where the 2 pieces will be mated: I want to retain the area ahead of the trigger minus the guard this way the back section will still be stable. Plus it gives me another area for switches =D ' Thoughts? Update i did some preliminary cutting, now you can get a better idea, the black marker line is where it will be shaped to conform to the curve but you get the gist:

Decided on using a different cup thing, no cuttng yet as the decision came at 4 am,..lol Found a coil of copper tubing still in its bag (some appliance application) and a 5 foot 3/4 pvc pipe so somethings gonna get done. Seems version 4 is winning the poll race atm....we shall see where this leads!
