I think maduncle is onto something - the origin of Wombles, no less! el Shoggo - I find if I stop posting, I stop punning... sothere is a cure, just one which I'm not going to indulge in any time soon Herr Dok - apologies for the thread-jacking (and the puns )

So THAT'S how they make trains.
A boy train meets a girl train and courts her with a discrete display of undercarriage before mounting the rails.
No wonder Thomas has a perpetual smile on his dial.

Before reading this post please open this page, and press the red button every time you see a asterisk in parenthesis.Indeed Herr Doktor, how is the addition of glorious technicolour going, we need enlightenment before these train posts get up steam(*) and take this thread further off the rails(*). Are you planning on further engines(*) of destruction for your arsenal? It is certain that such fine engineering is a worthy station(*) in life, will you be planning to train(*) others to make such fine weapons? This is certainly a thread that I will keep track(*) of. *bows* I thak you ladies and gentlemen, I shall be appearing in matinee every day up until Optimal Gifting Period Eve.

[In a last ditch attempt to bring this thread back on topic, Herr Döktor, posts some...]PICTURES! First, the 'concept' sketch of the power/range guage: And the dial with the beautifully machined mechanism and levers: And a close up of the dial: Still a work in progress, and hopefully I'll get some paint on it over the hols..!

Fansteamytastic dial up device Herr Dok!
Love the witty script on the dial, just makes it all that more fun.
And I feel well shunted after reading all those railpuns - who knew that train spotting could cause so much humour?
Enjoy your break over the new year (if you get one) and try to get some sunshine (I know that is hard over there in old blighty) don't dwell too long in the engine shed.

That sir, is magnificent.
I am glad I was able to assist with the brass levers & mechanism for the power setting mechanism and am proud of how they turned out. Thank you Herr Doktor for allowing me to contribute to this, albeit in such a small way.
I note that it is set on "overkill" and "pardon?" Methinks that might be the default setting?
Looking forward to it with some colour on!
