I found a copy of Ruse for about a buck at my local comic shop (the shop had a fire last summer, the cover is burned pretty badly, hence the price). Can't wait 'till i have the time to read it

Are the new Firefly comics a full series or a miniseries?  If it's a miniseries, I might wait until they're all out before ordering, since I hate to be left dangling in the middle of a storyline.

I was collecting the issues of Ruse when it was out in stores. And Merridian and other titles from Cross-Gen. The fact that the company is el foldo is distressing to me. I would like to know what is wrong with Battle Chasers myself. Yes, the production values were screwed up but the comic itself was great!

Most of Michael Manning's stuff has an Oriental sci-fi ish feel, but the Tranceptor series are particularly steampunk.

Warning, though:  You don't buy them for that reason.  The art's brilliant, but the sexual content is pretty extreme.  Which isn't a problem for me personally, but just make sure you know what you're getting into...

Fantastic though that is, not sure it's Steampunk: more sort of Post-War-Optimism-Punk, with an heavy dose of irony, really! Smiley

I really liked Ministry of Space, but it's not steampunk. It's a more vanilla flavor of alternative history. Still rather good.

There is a comic called Runaways published by Marvel. Joss Whedon did a run on it, and in #27 the main characters(super powered kids) end up using a time machine to go back to 1906. There´s a girl with mechanical wings, some kids with special powers and a bit of other steampunkish things. I´m not sure how long that story went on for, I only got hold of #27 and #28.

That full story is collected in Runaways: Dead End Kids http://www.amazon.com/Runaways-Dead-Kids-Premiere-Marvel/dp/0785128530/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1217273166&sr=8-3

I just finished reading it, and just about died when the robotic hero (The Difference Engine) printed out a punch card.

I don´t know wether this comic will be steampunk, but it at least sounded like something you people might like. It´s a comic about Poe and his brother getting tangled up in some occult murder investigation.

I'm surprised no-ones talked about Daisy Kutter yet!

Its a brilliant little Weird-West/steamwestern book, alas too quick to finish, but a cracking read nonetheless!
Robots, mechs and a sassy woman gunslinger with sweet hair. Might talk the missus into trying the hairstyle out.......(hehe Embarrassed)

Apologies if this has already been posted, but I didn't want to wade through ten pages looking for a reference and a search turned up nothing (but you know how temperamental that search can be at times):

"Aetheric Mechanics", a one-shot short graphic novel by Warren Ellis and Gianluca Pagliarani. If it feels too much like Holmes for you, just keep going. There's actually a good reason for that. Pagliarani's art is hit-and-miss to an extreme: sometimes it's breathtaking, sometimes it's frightening. Overall, though, worth the $6.99.

Not steampunk, but "Predator: Nemesis", a 2 issue series from Dark Horse, had a Predator visiting Victorian London.  If I remember rightly, Mycroft Holmes and the Diogenes Club pop up in it.  There are also flashbacks to a Predator in India, attacking British soldiers in redcoats and pith helmets.  I liked it, might appeal to some of you!

Atomic robo is pretty much steampunk. Pretty much its a wise cracking robot invented by tesla to just kick butt. I LOVE this comic series.

Joe the barbian has some steampunk elements to it. I have only read the first 3 issues but I would say its steampunk.

Sky pirates of valendor for sure falls into this catagory without a doubt. This one is for fans of indie comics.

So, did everyone skip Ignition City by Warren Ellis?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I picked up the first couple of issues before I had to put a moratorium on purchasing for a while, but now the trade is out and I'll be picking that up soon.

Apparently Crossgen is back in the comics biz, so we might see a return of RUSE.
