supposedly the Heterodyne heir was buried in the castle...but what if that weren't true?... dum dum daaaaahhhh. Ahah! so I wasn't the only one who thought that. It could be him, I originally thought they said it was a boy, and he died, as a ruse so Agatha could be safe... I also thought, as Higgs is older... what if it was the other heterodyne boy? If.. Barry?... was Agatha's uncle... what if the other one went to watch Klaus in secret?

This may be a completely absurd guess, but perhaps Higgs is the Baron, and the Baron he delivered was a lookalike? - They look extremely similar, with the exception that Higgs has fewer wrinkles.
- This would explain why he was recognized by the castle.
- It would be the sort of thing that the Baron would do, would it not? It's very likely that he has the resources, and it protects him from assassination attempts while allowing him to monitor and control the situation in the castle.

Given that this story is following some very traditional storytelling lines, I think it's a distinct possibility that Higgs is Agatha's long-lost twin brother, bit of a cop out I know, but it'd fit with the whole dynastic drama that is at the heart of the story...

He certainly seems to have her way with a wrench. ETA: Yikes! Best wishes and a speedy recovery to Mr. Wright!

A wild guess in the Higgs department, but could he actually be van Rijn? He seems to know an awful lot about the battle muse's construction, and that would explain why Tarvek, the son of the late, muse-obsessed, Aaronev Sturvoraus, recognizes him.
Perhaps?

I think there's a bit of play in how he draws the character. From all his other strips, (see Airship Entertainment for the 'compleat' list..save er...well we won't mention that one...not steampunk anyways... he does have a certain style, though head shapes do change. In Fridays' (todays) strip, at the bottom, Higgs looks like the old keeper of the castle, except no beard. Hey, If I could draw that well...

I thought van Rijn's been dead for a few hundred years. Am I wrong?

SHE STOPS DEATH BY SHOUTING
Indeed. Say-- If one is dead already, can one be scared to life? (Honestly, if I woke up with a girl like that latched onto me, I'd likely live too-- just for self defense!)

It was mildly obvious... but then again, maybe they do a rolling update with the time zones, or someone has insider knowledge?

This is indeed what I am wondering. Mostly because of this: Won't tell more.
As far as the rolling update-- from my POV, the updates come in at midnight, Eastern time zone (GMT -4), which I believe is consistent with the Professors' location.

The anticipation was traumatizing-- you are a bad, bad man. Now the question is, how did you know? The picture might be up a few hours before midnight, but the web page is only updaterd at midnight. Deduce the file name from the previous one, enter it directly, and you might strike gold.
