I had a look through and couldn't find any other threads the same, but just wondering if there were any other steampunk enthusiasts that reside in Perth, Western Australia.

Sadly, it was not me... Sad Unless I have mystery parcel on the way...? Without you knowing either of my existence, or my address...? Because perhaps you are some sort of psychic random gift-giver...? No...? Well, I thought it was worth a shot. *laughs*

Hey, I'm from Perth!

Although I'm not much of a cosplay steampunk, I can draw it pretty well. I try to draw in a Da Vinci style mixed with conceptual. I also plan to build some steampunk costume components.

I used to live in the Hills myself, so it sounds like a good plan. If we could perhaps organise it for a time when the weather is slightly kinder to those of us with a penchant for bustles, that would be brilliant. Smiley

I agree with Lady Eliza!  (plus I'm still getting my kit together...)

For any Perth people who are interested - I mostly sell my wares on ebay but a jewellery store in the Carillion is featuring some of my jewellery and sculptures in their window.  I don't want to run foul of the moderator so this isn't a sales pitch.  But if you are in the city and want to check it out the store is called LouLou and it's on the Murray Street level.  They should be commended for supporting a local artist and the steampunk aesthetic.

I'm curious to know where everyone is situated in this State of ours.

I am about ten minutes away from the city center by car, though I spend a lot of time in North Perth as well.

Also, I have done a little research and seen there are a couple of groups that appear to have made some effort to get going on some kind of a scale. Do we think that there might be a call for a socialising group? I already run one for tea parties, but I am sure there are other events we could "crash" as a group...?

I would love to meet other Perth SPers - maybe an informal "costume not compulsory" would be good to start with?  I'm in Bull Creek/Murdoch - I don't drive but Perth city is only 20 mins by train.   I was also thinking about contacting the other Perth artists who exhibited at the Melbourne NYE SP party Euchronia with view to having a joint exhibition/event/party later in the year.

Perhaps a "Sunday Session" meet up at a tavern or the such, for an informal meet-up? Though, how are we likely to tell our's from others? Hmmm...

Well, I'm fairly certain if such an event was to occur, I'd play dress-ups as I take every opportunity life can give me.

May I offer The Flying Scotsman as one potential venue? It's on Beaufort street in Mt Lawley, but public transport to and fro (using the Perth train station as a hub) is simple, even on a Sunday.

I am a Victorian of era only and most interested in investigating the time travelling association in this locality.

I am heavily involved in the Sherlock Holmes Soc of WA, and firmly understand the alternate realities that we all reside in.

Should you wish to investigate my credentials please feel free to search Eckermann in the book of face or the Earl of Maynooth in the Sherlockian world.

I am very interested in attending time fluctuant events in the Swan River colony and would love to hear of any up coming events. However I have trouble understanding the phrase "costume not compulsory".  What does this mean in this era?

please feel free to confirm my sincerity.

BTW, My Dear Steelhips, (tho I think I like Steamhips better)
Magnificent display in the Carillion!
Might I suggest something of a manly helmet size to adorn my pith helmet?

Your work is most extraordiary!

The Toodyay Moondyne Joe Festival is on Sunday May 1st this year and whilst not steampunk, it is colonial/Victorian/pioneer.
It is inhabited by convicts, floozies (think corsets), redcoats, drunks, toffs etc.

http://www.toodyay.com/events.asp
and scroll down to Moondyne (May 1st)

Are any steampunk personages planning to attend?

Wonderingly,

I would be interested in attending any events in Perth.

Although you'll have to excuse my current lack of steampunk attire. I seem to have ,what's the opposite of outgrow?, all my Victorian based clothing.

Greetings all.

I remember waaaaay back in 2005 or so I tried to ask around to find if any steampunk enthusiasts resided in Perth (Unsuccessfully). I finally attended Supanova this year (For the first time) and was happily surprised to find them. *sets determined Jaw and twirls moustache* Time to get my rig ready then... Excelsior...!!!
