Jesse Cox has just started an LP of Valiant Hearts, a rather charming little puzzle game thats set in WW1. Entertaining, and also educational.

I have very recently come across an indie PC game called "Sunless Sea" described as a very dark exploration/survival game with elements of adventure and roleplaying.  The principal feature appears to be the control of your own customised steamship as it explores a vast underground ocean set in a Gothic Victorian universe featuring places like Fallen London.  The game is in a late beta developmental stage but can be purchased and played on an early access basis.  Early access games are subject to possible changes, developments and embellishments as you play and it is possible for some changes to effect saved progress or erase saved progress altogether.  Many creators of such early access games do encourage feedback from players as part of the development process.  I do enjoy exploring some early access games and my intention is to try this out.
For more information try Steam (PC games store).

It's sadly the fact, that often trailers for games are so much better than the games themselves. And so just because this is pretty, and erm...has a slightly Steampunk robot in it... yeah that'll do. For those wondering, the music is "My tears Are Becoming A Sea" by M83.

"The Chaos Engine" on Amiga CD32 was my first introduction to Steampunk. At least the first I recognised as being labelled as such. Not a bad game for its day too.

I have no idea if this is going to be any good. But I'm posting it because both Sony and MS appear to be doing a monumentally crap job of advertising that it's even coming out. It's also getting a PC release.

Hello all! Smiley I very much wish to thank you for directing me to City of Steam and Syberia (both I and II). City of Steam appears amazing from what I have played of it thus far. I have not gotten the chance to buy and play Syberia as of yet, however, I very much wish to.
                                                                      Thank you again,

Another vote for Thief 2.  Yea, the graphics are dated, but the gameplay holds it's own.

Oh dear oh dear. I'm sure the design is still great, hopefully the story is good and I will still pick it up eventually, but what with the all the hype and delays I still gotta say.

Here is some software that I wrote a few years ago, it was meant to be a companion to Jeff Wayne's PC Game the War of the Worlds.

The companion was an old VB6 application. It was just a utility to use with the RTS PC game. The look and feel shows that VB6 can make exceedingly interesting looking apps even in Windows with old software. It ran on Windows only. From just this bit of VB6 development I started creating my distinctive steampunk widgets with what you will probably agree is a similar look and feel.

It was designed for XP but surprisingly it seems to work on Windows Vista, 7 and 8. Read the Deviantart description in full. Then if you plan to use it read the instructions. No support except by donation! No guarantee it will work!

The software is now available to download on Deviantart on my account. IF too many download it at  the same time it will go offline. So pace yourselves, if you aren't desperate for it, download it in a week's time.

Anyone who has played the original Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds PC Game will know its limitations. It has an ‘unfinished’ feel to it especially in the area of game configuration and being able to save and restart scenarios. This utility resolves those problems. The software consists of four modules, The Companion, The Selector, Additional Scenario Module and the Registry Changer.

The Companion provides hints and tips on how to play the game, access to the back door cheats that can help you win the game. The Companion allows you to launch the game from the hard disc which speeds up the game considerably and it also provides the full text of the original book by H.G. Wells. The Companion allows you to upgrade your original WOTW executable with the latest patch version. The Companion is also the launcher for the three main WOTW utilities.

Here is a nice icon to go with it

Download there, that's it, yes hmmmmm....

I mentioned this one a while back, but it has gone under the radar by comparison to other games as of late.  I have had the chance to play it, and while incredibly childish, Ill admit to having a bit of fun with it.

No problem at all. When you post a video do it using the link button above, as you did but simply remove the 'secure' element from the URL.

I've begun playing Ironcast, a game that was released yesterday after being successfully Kickstarted on Steam, It's a variation on the "Match 3" mechanic with a delightful Steampunk aesthetic. The story can be summarised as Victorian England being invaded by France using mechs.

Totalbiscuit has uploaded both a WTF and a letsplay stream of Ironcast if you'd like an idea of what the games all about. I'm sold.
