Someone mentioned Gatling Gears up thread. Heres a peek at gameplay from game commentator Totalbuscuit.

WTF is Gatling Gears?

Looks like a fun little shooter for $10. And I really like the asthetic.

Dunno if this has been mentioned already but from what I've seen Final Fantasy IX came across to me as the most Steampunk of the series.
Also possibly the most underrated.

City of Heroes is free now.
As a games-designer, I would lay good money on at least 90% of those items shown above being 'premium' and not free.  Okay, I like the idea of a one-off fee to unlock just the bits you want, but it has been a while since free truly meant free...

Financed by micropayments, of course. Nevertheless, I managed to make quite a steamy personage with free parts. Watch out for the Crimson Contraptor on Freedom.

I ended up trying it and I actually wasn't very impressed by the premium elements marked 'steampunk' compared to the free ones.  I did fancy a cloak / cape, but that was the only premium thing I wanted.

I'd add the excellent Planescape Torment, and the Fallout series.
fallout is definitely not steam punk maybe diesel punk. no not even that. its sci fi. takes place in the future. based around post apocalyptic nuclear disaster.

Good evening ladies and gentleman,

I'd like to share some of the steampunk influenced bits of a RTS computer game mod I'm building. It's FREE and OPEN SOURCE, so please forgive the amateurishness.

Imperial II - RTS (For MegaGlest RTS open-source engine)

Spoiler: about (click to show/hide)

Some unit models (not shown in-game):

Steam powered trebuchet. I love trebuchets - this one has a fixed counter-weight but can rock backwards and forwards. The steam power is just for reloading and mobility

Man at Arms. Not strictly steampunk, but hopefully compatible with tastes

War machine. Steam powered siege engine/tank. Some clear Greek trireme influences.

Cloud Galley. A bit like a steampunk bomber.

Moving Castle. Very heavy steam tank with poor mobility, based losely on the WW1 Russian Tsar Tank.

Storm Dragon airship

I can post more about it if people are interested. For the Glest online community go to http://glest.org/glest_board/index.php

Iron Grip: Maurauders looks pretty cool. At least the icon is quite steamy.

Just started playing "Rage"; it's essentially fallout 3, but less tongue-in-cheek. It's set in a post apocalypse world, with dirigibles, hot air balloons, buggies covered in spikes etc. Not quite steampunk but close enough to be enjoyable, and certainly very mad-max style dieselpunk.

I quite liked it, after I tweaked the graphic setting files... but it's sadly a really short game, even with all sidemissions..

Now I'm on holiday I finally got to play Gears Of War 3 after waiting two and a half years or so. Although I was unpleased with the ending, I found it pretty enjoyable. True to form they included some vehicular play, also a level in a submarine and a short but enjoyable bio airship ride. Cheesy

Warning: inevitably contains an irritating voiceover, bad language, violence and Gasbaggy destruction!

This seems to count, even though we're not in the traditional steampunk timeframe. The year is 1619. The place is the New World, or as the Romans called it, Mars.

I must confess I was not wholly delighted, when a friend who loves his gangsta thug games, recently informed me you can now Steampunk your character in Saints Row. Undecided

Hi everyone,
I'm Howard from Muse Games, an indie studio in New York.
I saw this thread, and I want to tell you about the game we are working on called Guns of Icarus Online.  It's a steampunk airship multiplayer game with the unique blend of shooter, repair, and navigation.  You and your crew will board your airship, fight, repair, and pilot against other crews on other ships.  There will be ship, guns, and character customization, along with a skills system.

We've launched a campaign on Kickstarter, raising funding, awareness, and offering discounted pre-orders of the game as well as goodies such as t-shirt, poster, log book, art book, early beta access, in game costumes, etc.  We are also offering the opportunity to work with us to design characters, ship items, and quest lines.
You can find more info here:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/musegames/guns-of-icarus-online

Please help us spread the word or pledge!  Thanks very much, Howard

Not seen it mentioned so thought I'd bring up Limbo! I think it has a very steampunk feel, save a few bits that might be better classed as dieselpunk.

It's a puzzle-platformer using mainly black and shades of grey.

Speaking of Guildwars 2 (fanboy moment) check out the "human" species clothing options. They looked VERY Victorian to my eyes when I first looked at them...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Each race has it's own feel to it, and some are quite 'punk'.... Humans are Steampunk, the Char are looking fairly Industrialpunk, the Asuran are... "magicalpunk"? Not sure about them... the Sylvari are plants and the Norn are the big scary nordic folks.
Either way, GWII looks to be fantastic (and is entering beta this month!).
