Ooooh, this sounds smashing.  How is the progress on it?

Also, the rules will be the same, with just a change thematically?

Hasbro have now introduced a Dr Orchid. I'm not sure if she is a medical doctor.

Don't talk about it; do it. Devise the rules, design the game board and play pieces. Introduce the game at a steampunk convention.

And you should make the game rules a little different from the existing product to avoid the "cease and desist" letter that the corporate bullies are so fond of sending out. There have been other games similar to Clue that have been released in the states; I know of two games called "Whodunit" and "Mr. Ree" and I'm confident that there have been others; you might want to take a look at them to get ideas.

A lovely idea, steaming up Cluedo, I always wanted a 3d mansion to play on.

Fun idea, but change the names of the characters.  Also a minor twist would be for any of the players to actually be the murdered person.

On an airship is perfect.

You definitely have to include 'ergot poison'.

As I recall.. there was a version of this game released here in the US in the 1980's called "Clue: Master Detective" which added SEVERAL additional characters-- going with the color/name theme there where characters like 'Monsieur Brunette' and 'Mademoiselle Rose'. One thing it also had, tho, was a set of cards which were dossiers on each potential killer, and provided all of them with a possible motive.

There are SO many wild directions you could go with this! Here's one: Make 'Mr Boddy' the victim, into Thomas Alva Edison, and have all of the potential killers be other inventors who want to kill him for either beating them to the patent office or outright taking their ideas.

Nikola Tesla - who lost out to Edison on the use of electricity to power homes
Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinville-- whose invention the phonautograph was basically Edison's phonograph without a playback option.
Alexander Graham Bell - who nearly lost the telephone business to Edison, over the popularity of the carbon microphone
Frederick DeMoleyns , who created a glass incandescent bulb in 1841

Professor Plum already fits quite well.

Ms. Scarlett could be easily changed to a Lady Scarlett.

I would have thought the Big game hunter could be covered by the Colonel.

Miss Scarlet should always be Miss Scarlet as she always reminds me of a grave robbing whore who styles herself as a stage actress.
Pass history suggest that she has personal history with the mansion and will do anything to get it.
There are some hints that she flaunts her "gifts" as a hired assassin.

How does a graverobbing whore get paid? It seems like a bad business plan.

Goldigging, rather than graverobbing. Though blackwidow would also work, if she's killing the hubby rather than just exploiting.

Well, some chaps do collect daggeurotypes of young ladies doing all kinds of exotic things.... I think it's images like those that set that nice young Dr. Fronkensteen off on his odd little experiments...

However, back to Steampunk Cluedo - my guess is "Lady Clankington ... in the Library... with the Candlestick..."

It was Reverend Green in the Laboratory with the Angry Mob.

Him and his angry sermons.

Or maybe in the observatory, with the brass telescope.

Seems a bit of a shame to move away from colour names though, always thought it was a lovely way of linking the game pieces to the characters.
