hello to all, first off please allow me to say that all of the creations and individualistic tastes that are on this forum make it extremely hard for me to ever leave my computer. i am generally a person that is drawn to contemporary stylings, but when i stumbled upon brass goggles i was thrown back a couple centuries. i love to fiddle with random widgets to see if something more productive or maybe just a fancy paper-weight can be made from it. This community seems to be the mecca for such creativity and handywork to go hand in hand. i've been a frequent reader of brass goggles for the past few months but have never had anything to contribute until now.
i dont believe i've seen a pair constructed the same way i did mine, but of course that doesnt mean that it hasnt been done. im not quite sure how to post pics on here so if they dont show up i apologize..
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28836875@N07/-the lense housings and lense are from the top of two large Mag flashlights
-the leather eye-cups were cut and formed from a large hide of leather that i usually use to make sheaths for knives.
-the brass top brace and ear "rods" are just 1/4" brass rod that i threaded for the couplers that they screw into.
-the silver pieces that wrap around the ears was a 2" in diameter steel ring that i cut in half and soldered to the end of the brass rods.
-the lenses are slightly tinted from some cheap window tint from wal mart.
thank you for your time and i hope the pictures go thorugh *crosses fingers*
Ah thank you Spykke and Lilibat, i belive the issue is now resolved...
