Sweet, I love Willsons. That's what I'm wearing in the tophat pic too.
I'm not sure about the origin of the frame. It was something my mother found somewhere and had stuffed behind her china cabinet. I fell in love with it instantly. I asked her for it a dozen times and she wouldnt part with it, but still it sat tucked away for the next 3 years. Finally I had enough and I just liberated it. I couldn't bear to see it collecting dust any longer. After all her protests and her refusal to give it to me, she really didnt have a problem with it when she eventually saw it hanging in my place. She just said "oh that looks nice there!"
I have plans of refurbishing it eventually and most likely building a replica or two while I'm at it. It's a beautiful piece.
P.S. you might see me at this Maledication place eventually. I'm in the process of planning a move to the L.A. area right now.
OH MAN! your mom does that too huh?....yeah...I am still trying to get my hands on this bronze art nouveau end table she has...IN HER GARAGE!...it's cool too...looks like a bunch of lily pads. I got a decent sized bronze and stained glass egg night light though...and it is pretty cool...now I just need that end table to go with it ...muahahahaha. *Plots* Yes Wilson's are sweet, I have a few pairs, including a pair I will photograph at some point with some custom art deco metalwork on the sides, a pair which I did a seriously cool custom modification on with some Indian hard-wood, and a few pairs I am in the process of customizing at present...pictures to come soon.

"circus" fashion shoot: daily getup: Belgian wool police officer's uniform (a suit you can do heavy labor in), european rail conductor's hat, goggles for riding in the rain and grinding Fancy occasions: Top hat from Camden lock market (so hard to find an extra-large in the states), used bobby's cloak (it's full of patches, really got years of use, it's wonderful), magic feather. Jaunts on the Pennyfakething: Velocipedal gayness

These photos and hints are great Mr. Paycheck. I'm fond of old wool military gear myself, having gone through two East German officer's overcoats. (lost them of course) That handle bar 'stache is magnificent! What do you use for wax?

Yeah I used to feel guilty about it until I realized that she has absolutely no clue what she has any more. She just hordes for the sake of hoarding. If I didnt free this stuff, it would just sit there and rot away, so I routinely raid her attack and garage for old treasures to refinish and refurbish. The best tactic I've found is "out of sight, out of mind". If there's something you like, just stuick it in a corner out of the way somewhere. Once she stops tripping over it, it'll just vanish in her mind. She won't even notice when it really vanishes. Please, take pics of your goggles, I don't think i've ever seen a set of modified Willsons before. Funny Willson anecdote: Last Sunday on my one weekly social outing to the pub, I wore my Willsons because it was lightly snowing. Some trashy biker bargoyle chick sees them and says "those are some ugly sunglasses!" I replied "they're not sunglasses, they're goggles....and they're not ugly, that's just your reflection you're seeing in the lenses". Hahaha beeyutch. How dare she insult a man's Willsons?

This is my day to day wear. Not precisely Victorian, but once I get some goggles it'll be moreso. It's a very nice white dress shirt, found at Frenchy's (used clothing store), an Old Navy jacket and a hat I found at Mark's Work Wearhouse. The gloves I picked up at my great-uncle's house.

The gloves are a good touch Tel Janin. No gentle of the era would think of leaving the house without. Gloves allow members of the opposite sex to interact, without the scandal that bare skin meeting bare skin might create.

Murray's hair pomade. Melt it with a blowdrier, work it in, comb it out. Perfect every time, all day, and can be adjusted later if neccessary, just apply a little heat. I swear by it, and have no use for waxes anymore. It's cheap, it's at the drugstore, it comes in an orange tin, the size of two stacked hockey pucks. "Murray's Hair Pomade. It is the best hair dressing." Regards, Alexander

Ah, everyone looks bloody fabulous! Very inspiring! An older one of me, from April of 2005: And a recent one, from two weeks ago: Corset busks are good places for hiding pocketwatches. Keep the images comin', ladies and gents!

Exo you inspired a friend of mine on SL with your outfit from 2005, she wears a similar headgear arrangement in game and has been quite happy with it.

What can I say--it's a good place to stash one's goggles. Does make the hat even heavier, however.

So Libby tells me that people are showing off their kit. Sounds like an open invitation to me! Here's a pic taken by my dear old Ma at our last show with a judicious bit of editing by "Brass Panties" Bulloff:

k, never thought i would post anything like this, but I really liked the hotel room I am in in London, I like the Sherlock Holmes collection I just picked up in the background of this picture (Annotated 3 volume set, 80 quid), and decided to sepia it just for the "mood". I present to you... me.

I've finally got some photos of myself so I thought I'd post one on here. I'm not super-hard-core steampunk in everyday life because I tend more towards the Japanese kodona/dandy style, but it's fairly similar.
