We actually use small chainsaws on staffs around these parts to limb pines grown for lumber. Kickback is worrysome enough with a hand-held chainsaw (cost my childhood neighbor some of his thumb as well as 23 stitches in my uncle's leg,) but a chainsaw on a stick is a whole other order of scary for the operator. I hate the things myself, always have - but in the Nort'woods, they're unavoidable necessary evils. The Battle Chainsaw is one of those ideas that looks great in graphics, but I guarantee you that, were you actually to assault an armored individual with a chainsaw, you would be just as likely to be fatally injured by your own weapon as your opponent.
Looks really cool though....

Yeah. That's actually what it is, it's an attachment for the end of a weedeater for trimming hedges and limbs that are high up. Halloween isn't exactly about practicality, right?

Well the first post says period clothing so I figured these goes here more than the post your picture thread. My extent of dressing up was Ren Faire and I've been waxing nostalgic all day. So here we go. Just in my regular attire: The ex and I (my eyes apparently were closed): Me sitting down and teaching a young custie how to shoot:

I hope you don't take this in offense, but the third one from the top looks as if you've been recentlt hit in the nuts.

Did a pretty intense stint at school (56 hours total with just two hours of sleep tucked in there somewhere) followed by a huge presentation. This is what I looked afterwards.
You look a lot better than I would have after such a stint.

You know I've felt the same way. I've done about 6 different ones in Cali, and the weekend on in Las Vegas, but none others. Maybe one of these days I will plan out a cross country road trip just right so I can hit as many Faires as possible.

All this is lost on me.
You must not watch very many Bruce Campbell movies. I highly recommend them. He's one of my favorite actors. Ash Williams is one of his better known characters and is from the Evil Dead series. Hail he who hath fallen from the sky to deliver us from the terror of the Deadites!I have! that line originally said "hail to the King" And while BC made a fantastic Old Elvis, He needs to be hailed, not one preformance... It's not a reference to just one performance though ... Army of Darkness ends with Ash in voice over saying, "Sure I could have been King, but in my own way, I am a king." He then says out loud, "Hail to the king, baby", while kissing a female employee in S-Mart. (In the theatrical release anyway. I prefer the Director's cut ending.) Then there's also the Evil Dead: Hail to the King video game ... Shop smart, shop S-Mart.

This weekend when I am celebrating a belated St. Patty's, I will grab a random girl and say, "Gimme some sugar, baby." in honor of all of you.
