Well, the good Mr Von Slatt has taken the aethernet by steam-powered storm today! His Steampunk Laptop project writeup (to tutorial-level detail) over at the Steampunk Workshop is perfectly marvellous, and his tutorial writing skills are a shining example. My congratulations to you and your Lady, Mr Von Slatt (for she demonstrated your keyboard wonderfully).

From how to dissasemble your existing, painfully beige keyboard, to tips on sourcing typewriter keys and alternatives (good button find), to making the brass cradle and colouring the cable – it’s all there. Oh, how I look at my keyboard with dissapointment now – maybe Mr Von Slatt has shortened the time before it becomes more brass based!
