Something Old, Something New – Earthfire Studios Steampunk Jewelery
A new entry into the Steampunk accessory arena is Earthfire Studios.
Currently, they create steampunk jewelry and are starting to branch out into home decor field. Looks like some pretty nice craftsmanship, to boot.
Now, those of you who are horologist-types, rest assured that they use only watch bits that are well past useable.
“What we do is take watches that are not in working order, we find them at antique stores and even at watch auctions (believe me, we’ve had to do some explaining with those guys!) but we finally got there blessing when we assured them that we weren’t stripping down working pieces. When you start to do this type of jewelry and are up close and personal with so many beautiful pieces you would have to be callous to not appreciate the work that has gone into these beauties. We have quite a few pieces sitting here, and we can’t bare to take them apart even though we purchased them from a pocket watch collector that told us they were not fixable.” Friendly folks too!
