Steampunk Wristwatches Now For Sale!

Haruo Suekichi from Japan, whose stunning gallery of steampunk watches was previously featured on Brass Goggles, has now offered a few of his designs for sale at Chief Mag! These two beautifully handcrafted watches are available in two designs, male and female. Unfortunately these will be among the rarest of rares, for there will only be two of each for sale, and will cost a pretty penny. The male design costs $1200, while the female design costs $800. Let’s hope Mr. Suekichi makes more!

magnificent! truly a splended idea. the classic pocket watch has always suited me just fine, but this is revolutionally!

if i had the money, i would love to purchase one of these. alas i do not, but will continue to admire the craftman ship of these watches.

I find the price heartening, should someone be willing to pay it. Also means that mainstream's beginning to like it (okay, so this may or may not be a good thing). I'd like some day to actually make a career doing items like this, and the thought that demand and willingness to pay for it out there makes me a little more secure in expressing those ideas to a complete stranger.

how much are chief mag putting on top of these? $1200? especially when you consider that in the earlier interview on chief mag, suekichi-san said he didn't feel he could charge even $180 for them because they were "just toys" $1200? good grief.

I would have loved to see how they should be worn. because I get a little confused by it.
