I was delighted to see this project. I have a sample of the very first commercially successful oscilloscope ever sold - the Type 687 from General Radio:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/gomezaddams/136648188/in/set-1283280/
It needs work - a few busted knobs - but is otherwise in good condition.

G.R. made one model before that, the Type 535A, but it was not a commercial success. I'd give body parts to get my hands on one though.

I daresay, Tinkergirl has not updated in two weeks. What circumstances could have befallen her? Was she kidnapped by Moon Men? Did a giant clank step on her? Have her brass goggles cracked? We may never know. At least we can comfort ourselves with the thought that, wherever she may be, she is possibly alive.

Glow little glowtube, freaky fire
Glow like an incandescent wire
Show us the sine waves of a frequency
Turn on the AC and the DC
This night could use a little brightnin'
Light up you ghostly serpentine lightnin'
When gotta glow, you gotta glow
Glow little glowtube glow
