Mr

Quentin Regnier's Keyboard Mod with Remington portion

Mr Quentin Regnier, deeply inspired by the Von Slatt and Datamancer keyboards was determined to make one for himself, but sought his own unique take on the concept.  The result, which he describes as a ‘totaly absurd artifact‘ is a lovely creation – with parts of a Remington typewriter, buttons for keys and hand-dyed leather.  There’s absolutely no mistaking this keyboard for the oceans of beige and black standard issue ones out there!

Félicitations, Mr Quentin, on your gloriously absurd, Steampunk artifact!

  • Oh Bravo! nice work! The pointing hands are genius!

  • Thanks a lot, Jake ! Your work has been so inspiring for steampunk fans...
The keyboard was not totally finished when photographed, though : 2 keys are uncomplete, but it's detail... Now I guess I'll have to think about a steampunk mouse ! I haven't seen any on the web yet...

Actually, Mr Hildebrandt made what he called "The Bug" - a rather Steamy mouse indeed.

  • That's right, it's absolutely incredible !
  • Love it! I think we need a lot more leather in steampunk -- not only is it easier to work with than brass, but it brings both a punkier and "old west" edge to the device.

    Great work!!
  • Mister Greyshade
This really inspiring because I don't have the experience or tools to make something like Von Slatt's famous keyboards, but I could do something somewhat like this. Yeah... definetely.! The cogs are turning in the old brain now! Thank you for sharing. excellent work.
  • Very cool! I agree with Jake...the pointing hands are great!
