Miniature Man Melter Raygun from Weta - mine at last! Mwahaha!

Though it’s terrible to show off, I am pleased as punch that I’ve managed to get myself one of the limited edition miniature Man Melter rayguns from Weta that were on sale at Comic Con. It is all down to the very kind offer and actions of Mr La Grasta who offered to be my raygun collecting secret-agent. Thank you, Sir – I am very grateful! It adorns the top of my computational engine at my place of employment, and looks very dashing – even if people do keep asking if it works. *chuckles*

The woman at the postal counter was particularly confused by this, I should mention. I had to repeatedly reassure her that it was a non-working-model-slash-replica of a fictional weapon and did not contain any moving parts, batteries, active power systems or even moving parts. She was apprehensive to put 'model raygun' on the customs form - one can only conclude that the US government must be using the very same postal system to mail actual rayguns.

I too managed to snag one through the very generous help of an American con attendee.
They are most splendid in the flesh are they not. Very weightly little buggers.

I was considering mounting mine is a wall case with
"In event of invasion by Moonmen - Break glass" above the window, and a tiny hammer.

I await the release of the large versions with glee.

Did you also get a copy of the splendid "cutaway" diagram print/poster..?

I was one of the lucky winners of one of the aforementioned rayguns in the Miniature Manmelter Aquirement Opportunity competition. For the past two days the gun has been languishing in Australian customs as they try to determine whether it actually emits rays or not. Have even faxed them the description and photo from the Weta website and hopefully that will convince them to release it without having to unpack and test the thing.

I got my Goliathon gun today, I love it!
Look out for the 3 cardboard boxes, two layers of plastic and some extra twist tyes (around the gun, to support during transport).

My boyfriend and I picked up two of those (one is currently in our bedroom, the other in our office/library), and the limited edition print (signed by the creator!). All are very impressive and awesome.

For the person having trouble mailing the raygun... Even if it was real, I doubt a gun that tiny could do any real damage. :P Stupid customs. :)
