Edgar and the Voyagers! Steampunk Cartoons.

_ZodA8xZBk4

Mr Hayden – thank you so much!  I do indeed like all things Steampunk and this set of two animation shorts is really rather good silly Steampunk fun.  Edgar and the Voyagers was apparently a cartoon done for a contest, but I’ve yet to find out any more about it so far.  There’s two episodes (with a cliffhanger!) following the troubles of Edgar – your average highly intelligent adventurous 13 year old who’s lost his parents and goes out to find them with his trusty manservant and team of Russian marines.  Episode 1, Episode 2 and the trailer.
Quite silly, but quite good fun and only about 3 minutes a pop.  Shame there’s no more, really – I’d have liked to have followed the adventures of Edgar, Lux and friends.  Thank you, Mr Hayden.

Thanks, I am happy you like the cartoons I found on YouTube.

I found them on the WB site. Better quality than the YouTube ones.

Both episodes are there. I too wish there were more, these cartoons are simply wonderful.

Silly me forgot to add that there is a survey on the website that asks questions based on whether or not one would like to see this show on Television. If I am following the intentions of the survey correctly, it seems they are prodding those who watch the small episodes to find if they should air this.

If this is the case, I am ecstatic and anyone who enjoys the two episodes posted should fill out the survey. Maybe we can get this show on the air.

    Sorry for posting twice, a little over-excited. = )

    Hi there! Greetings from Brazil.
    Really really amazing cartoon!!
I found another very peculiar cartoon on Youtube. It seems very steampunk as well.

There is also another parts. Looks like it is a short animation film from 2005.
    Quite interesting!!

It's just Richie Rich pushed through a superficially steampunk lens of brass, gears, and rivets. I really don't like it. Edgar is an arrogant unlikable brat, the animation is crude and the pacing seems to have gone right passed ADD and heading straight for seizure inducing.
  • Hi everyone thanks for posting Edgar! As you guys noted, I made this for a conetst and it actually won! The show was supposed to get a shot at a TV spot if it won, but that hasn't happened. Warners has bought it and says that they want to do something with it but it just seems to be in moth balls. I hope to get a lot of hits on you tube and then put that under their nose. I'd like to try to get them started on more episodes, or at least get them to give me the okay to do it myself. I pitched this show to every one for almost ten years, finally I found a steampunk fan in Sam Ades over at Warners online. I don't know about the whole Richie Rich thing, I mean yeah he's wealthy... I do however agree whole heartedly with Daniel's comment about the pacing. This thing was a 11 minute episode that was wedged into two 3 and a half minute shorts. I Really want to thank you guys again, for posting my short! It's great to know that other people like it as much as I do, and the number of people watching it has balooned since you put it up!
