The Mustache Rangers – Serial Interpod Netcast Adventures

Mustache Rangers

Commander Major Alastair Q. Bastidious and First Lieutenant Rutuger G. Phooneybaum, in their aluminium spaceship, plumb the depths of space in their ongoing missions from the Great Mustache for the greater glory of the American nation!  And what moustaches they have – cheer thrice for The Mustache Rangers!
An improvised comedy program, with old-style phonograph style music, Steampunk technology, and adventures in the murky regions of space (sponsored by Doc Johnsons’ Olde Tyme Elixer, of course) – there’s been ten episodes so far.  I love the style, and the idea, though I found that the improv-ness of it started to embarrass me a little in the first episode (I mean really – what’s in the envelope!).  It also confuses me somewhat – it’s all about adventuring for the glory of America, and yet they say “Aluminium” and “Zed” (inconsistantly).  I am baffled, but I applaud their efforts nonetheless.  Here’s a link to the first episode of their journey – and it seems they may be sent into the very heart of a star!  Thank you, Mr McKeown!

  • Kabuki
Perhaps colliding Air Ships (depending, of course, upon mechanism of bouyancy) mightn't be the best of ideas?
  • Oh Heavens, what an infinitesimal planet we reside upon. I spent a well imbibed evening in front of a local pub twirling the ends of these gentleman's mustaches last fall. It was a great pleasure to meet these phenomenally talented Rangers, though I knew not then of the adventures that they were soon to embark upon. I do hope our airships collide again in our fair metropolis.
  • Enoch
My middle and preferred name is Alastair, so I'm prejudiced. They could burn kittens while playing in accordian to the beating of a living gay manatee pinata, and I'd still look and listen. Alastair just has a certain panache. Especially haired.
  • Huzzah for the once in a lifetime opportunity for the inconsistencies, usually foisted upon the British ear by the Americans pretending to be English, to be instead at cross-purposes!

Enjoy the confoundedness and experience what it is like to watch classic American soaps. :P

(No offence meant to our cousins way over there)
