More Gyroscopes: Images, Science and Theory

Mr I Smith pointed out the Gyroscopes.Org site for a wonderful gallery of both modern, historical and curio gyroscopes. While my eye is naturally drawn to any in brass, there are definitely peculiar examples: a meccano gyroscope, a german torpedo gyroscope, and many university gyroscopes of various ages.
Over and above the delightful images, there is information on the history of gyroscopic devices, the physics and maths behind their operation, and even discussion into the rather wooly and scientifically undecided realm of gyroscopic propulsion. No doubt the feasibility of such things matters not to Steampunk imaginations!
