Thank you very much for the information – while I’ve not done a big post on monowheels yet, I’m sure their time will come all too soon.

As for the bikes – I’m sure I could stand to be doing 15mph on a steam bike, as long as it looked the part.

Lovely machines! Alas, a modern powered bicycle must be limited to 15mph in the UK (powered; you can pedal it faster on an "assist" mode or freewheel downhill). If it goes faster, it is rated as a moped, and needs to be registered, insured and taxed as one: a local eccentric has a sturdy roadster with an underslung petrol engine, and numberplate.

I'm not sure the rules cope with the concept of a monowheel though...
